Art Therapy

Art as metaphor
Art therapy can help bring what is hidden to the surface through visual metaphors. The metaphors we explore with our art are extensions of ourselves and can provide insight into what we need.

Art as healing
Through art we can address the deep physical and psychological pain inflicted on us - and can begin to heal the wounds that stem from trauma, illness, and isolation.

Art as pain transformation
Through exploring our physical and mental pain, we begin to gain power over it and in the process, transform it into something more productive.
My Therapeutic Orientation

Person-centered
I approach therapy in a non-judgmental way, believing each person is unique and are the best experts of themselves who sometimes need some support.

Intersectional
Each person is made up of different identities and experiences that overlap. Understanding these may help shed some light on the different systems we belong to that may be oppressing us and causing harm.

Trauma-informed
Trauma comes in many forms and can impact all facets of your identity, so it is essential that a holistic approach to treatment is taken that respects each trauma history uniquely.
